The United States and the Americas
The United States and the Americas series is dedicated to a broader understanding of the political, economic, and especially cultural forces and issues that have shaped the Western hemispheric experience, its governments and its peoples. Individual volumes assess relations between the United States and its neighbors to the south and north: Mexico, Central America, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and Canada.
New volumes will consider topics and issues in the history of the Americas from the mid-eighteenth century assessed from a hemispheric, regional and transnational perspective: revolution and independence, nation-building and nationalism, imperialism, civil wars; Pan Americanism and the inter-American system; literary, educational and cultural exchanges; migration, sports, human rights and social policy.
