Thank you for your interest in the University of Georgia Press.
These are our guidelines for submitting information on a prospective book project. Please include as much of the following materials and information as you deem appropriate for the kind of book you wish us to consider for publication:
A cover letter that includes a concise description of your book and its notable features, your opinion of its potential readership, and your views on how it relates to any similar books that it might compete with or complement.
Your letter should also tell us something about the current status of the manuscript. Please tell us whether it is completed or not, and if not, give us a projected completion date and a general idea of the nature, and amount, of work that remains to be done. In addition, let us know if you are submitting your proposal simultaneously to other publishers or if the manuscript is currently under consideration by another publisher.
A table of contents
A copy of any introductory material (preface, foreword, introduction)
A resumé, curriculum vitae, and/or biographical note
These guidelines do not apply to the Association of Writers and Writing Programs Award for Creative Nonfiction, Cave Canem Poetry Prize, Flannery O'Connor Award for Short Fiction, or The National Poetry Series.
Address your proposal, and any requests for further information, to the appropriate editor at the following address:
The University of Georgia Press
Main Library, Third Floor
320 South Jackson Street
Athens GA 30602
Please allow us one month to consider your proposal before you make any followup inquiries. We make every effort to give prospective authors a clear indication of their project’s suitability for our publishing program within this time.
